Long votes to overhaul the tax code

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Billy Long (MO-07) released the following statement following the passage of the Conference Report to H.R. 1, the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act:

“Hardworking Americans got an early Christmas present this year,” said Rep. Long. “The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act provides the first comprehensive reform of the tax code in over three decades. This legislation will help the American worker and ensure the continued vitality of the American economy. It lowers tax rates, closes loopholes and provides much-needed relief for families across the country. I look forward to watching the president sign this bill into law.”
