Long votes ‘NO' on House budget package, calls for fiscal responsibility
Washington, DC,
October 28, 2015
Congressman Billy Long (MO-07) today released the following statement after casting his vote against H.R. 1314, the Bipartisan Budget Agreement Act of 2015, which would increase spending caps by a combined $80 billion and increase the federal debt by approximately $1.5 trillion: “This package represents more of the same reckless spending addictions that have plagued our nation for too long,”said Rep. Long. “I came to Washington to fight for fiscal principles that will leave future generations with more opportunity – not to decrease those opportunities with more debt. The debt ceiling hike and billions of dollars in spending increases inside this bill keep us on a path to fiscal collapse.” |
