U.S. Rep. Billy Long is again inviting the Seventh District to vote online in the People's Choice Award for the 2015 Congressional Art Competition.
U.S. Rep. Billy Long is again inviting the Seventh District to vote online in the People’s Choice Award for the 2015 Congressional Art Competition. “The People’s Choice Award has proven to be a successful and fun way for people to choose their favorite work of art among the district’s Congressional Art Competition entries. It’s great for students, friends and families to engage and vote for this special prize in the competition,” Long said. The People’s Choice Award will be awarded to the entry that receives the most “likes” on Long’s Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/Rep.Billy.Long, by visiting the 2015 Congressional Art Competition photo gallery. The student who wins the People’s Choice Award will be invited to hang his or her work in one of Long’s district offices. The voting for the People’s Choice Award ends at 4 p.m. Central on Friday, April 17. Long is currently looking for the next winning artwork to represent Missouri’s 7th District in the Congressional Art Competition. The art competition challenges high school students to come up with an original painting, drawing, print, collage, mixed media, computer-generated art, or photograph. The 1st place winner of the art competition will have their artwork displayed in the corridor of the United States Capitol for one year as well as be invited to participate in the opening event in Washington, D.C. The 2nd, 3rd, and People's Choice winners will be invited to display their work in one of Long's district offices. The Congressional Art Competition allows Members of Congress to inspire and appreciate the artistic talents of emerging artists in their congressional districts. The winning piece for Missouri’s 7th District will be selected by professional artists. ### |
