American Conservative Union Recognizes Long's Work in Congress
Washington, DC,
May 13, 2015
U.S. Representative Billy Long was presented Tuesday with the American Conservative Union Award for Conservative Achievement for 2014. “It is an honor to be recognized in the fight to uphold conservative American principles. I will continue working toward achieving conservative solutions to problems facing our nation today. It is up to us now to ensure we live within our means to provide a bright future for the generations to come. Importantly, I will continue working the will of Missouri’s Seventh District in Congress to inspire and reinforce the values we hold near and dear.” The American Conservative Union is a national conservative grassroots organization established in 1964. The organization rates members of Congress based on their votes on a wide range of issues from tax policy to social issues to foreign policy. According to the ACU website, Long has the highest lifetime rating among the Missouri Congressional delegation – rated at 92 percent – in voting with the group’s conservative stances.
