ICYMI: The deadline to apply for FEMA and SBA disaster assistance is approaching Disaster Assistance: The deadline to apply for Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and disaster assistance and low-interest disaster loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) for Missouri homeowners, renters and businesses is Aug. 14, 2017. In late April, storms and flooding hit southwest Missouri causing damage to homes and businesses. With the help of Gov. Greitens, President Trump signed a disaster declaration, which allows federal assistance to be made available to those impacted. Counties eligible in Missouri’s 7th Congressional District: Christian, Greene, Jasper, McDonald, Newton, Stone and Taney. Here’s how to apply: Call the FEMA helpline at 800-621-3362.
Operators will be available from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. CST seven days a week. Go online to DisasterAssistance.gov. Use the FEMA app for smartphones. SBA’s electronic loan application.
