Long tours areas in southwest Missouri devastated by Wednesday night's storms

Washington, May 24, 2019

CARL JUNCTION, MO – Congressman Billy Long (MO-07) today released the following statement after touring areas in southwest Missouri that were severely damaged during Wednesday night’s storms:

“First and foremost, I want to express my gratitude to all of the volunteers that have turned out to assist and support those affected by this devastating tornado in Carl Junction,” said Rep. Long. “Today, I visited with folks in the area who had been personally impacted and toured their storm ravaged homes. The most moving part was when a couple came up to me with tears in their eyes to thank me for being there and offering assistance. They said, ‘You don’t know how much this means to us.’ I will continue to remain in close contact with Governor Parson and local officials on the ground as we monitor the situation. My office has reached out to and been in contact with businesses nationwide and FEMA in order to help in any way possible.”

If you are in need of assistance in the aftermath of these storms, contact your local county or municipal emergency management director here: https://bit.ly/2YRlwtR. In addition, please contact Rep.
