Congressman Billy Long (MO-07) issued the following statement after visiting Webb City High School:

“Today, I had the privilege of stopping by Webb City High School during an Environmental Science class taught by Wayne Smith to talk about my work on the Energy and Commerce Committee,” said Rep. Long. “These bright, young students make me confident that our country’s future is in good hands. I can’t thank our educators enough for all of their hard work and dedication to the students of Missouri’s 7th Congressional District.”

“This year, Webb City High School is losing one of its veteran teachers,” Long continued. “After 29 years of public service, Mr. Smith is retiring from both teaching and coaching. He has been a tireless advocate for students over the years, putting in long hours even over summer breaks. I want to thank him for his service and wish him luck in all of his future endeavors.”
