Rep. Long Comments After Passage of Procedural Vote Sets the Stage for Budget Reconciliation
Washington, August 24, 2021
Congressman Long made the following statement after the U.S. House of Representatives took a procedural vote to move forward with the budget reconciliation process.
“The process the Democrats undertook to ram their agenda through the House of Representatives today shows how broken Washington truly is,” Congressman Long said. “They are prioritizing trillions of dollars in a debt spending spree that will raise taxes for average Americans. The $68 trillion of total spending over the next decade is only going to lead to higher prices, more debt, and more government takeover. I thought Bernie Sanders lost the primary.”
